Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing

The Senior Financial Analyst will partner with Marketing leadership to manage budgets, forecasts, headcount planning, performance reporting, and ROI analysis. The role requires 3–5+ years of FP&A, strategic finance, or investment banking experience and strong financial modeling and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point person for Marketing budget-related questions and build strategic partnerships with budget owners across Demand Generation, Digital, and Product Marketing.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly forecasting cycles for Marketing operating expenses and headcount in Anaplan.
  • Review and approve purchase orders and spending.
  • Partner with Recruiting, the Chief of Staff, and HR to align headcount forecasts and hiring pace with the approved plan.
  • Prepare and present monthly Budget vs. Actuals decks and presentations for QBRs, operations reviews, and CMO/Finance leadership meetings.
  • Analyze variance drivers, identify risks and opportunities, and communicate the rationale behind financial results.
  • Support pipeline-generation forecasting and funnel analysis, including conversion and velocity.
  • Analyze Customer Acquisition Cost, lifetime value, and Marketing ROI with Marketing Operations.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or investment banking; SaaS or software experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides skills.
  • Ability to build complex financial models and executive-ready presentations from scratch.
  • Ability to distill complex financial data into clear, actionable narratives for non-finance leaders.
  • Familiarity with Anaplan, NetSuite, Coupa, Salesforce, Workday, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude and Gemini to accelerate analysis, automate reporting, and improve productivity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment with a high level of precision.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting a go-to-market organization, particularly Sales or Marketing.
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics including ARR, churn, retention, and Magic Number.
  • Experience working in a high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
  • Experience presenting financial analysis directly to senior or executive leadership.
  • Interest in building scalable, self-service reporting and dashboards.

Compensation and Benefits

  • San Francisco Bay Area annual base salary: $117,000–$161,000 USD.
  • Annual base salary for California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington: $104,000–$143,000 USD.
  • Benefits include equity where applicable, bonus, health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave including PTO and parental leave.
