Senior Software Engineer responsible for building and maintaining scalable Java applications, RESTful APIs, and automated testing workflows. Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and execute software development lifecycle tasks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to iterate on software requirements.
- Develop clean, efficient tools and applications.
- Automate tasks using appropriate tools and scripting.
- Analyze and debug systems.
- Perform validation and verification testing using test-driven development.
- Review others’ work and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products.
- Keep software up to date with current technologies.
Requirements
- Experience writing clean, scalable Java code.
- Experience with Spring Boot.
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs.
- Working knowledge of test-driven development.
- Proficiency with Git.
- Experience with system and performance monitoring tools such as New Relic and Datadog.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, and RestAssured.
- Strong organization, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and personal leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with generative AI code assistants such as GitHub Copilot and current generative AI models.
- UI development experience with Vue.js, React, or Angular.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio.
- Experience with Ansible.
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
- Linux and IP networking knowledge.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud services.
- Experience with SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
- Experience with SaaS products and service-oriented architecture.
- Knowledge of Python, Bash, or Groovy.
- On-call experience with production-grade systems.
- Experience mentoring others professionally.
