About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build polished, high-converting purchasing experiences that help members discover digital experiences and enable communities to sell digital memberships, courses, and content at scale.
  • Work autonomously to build and maintain applications with a Ruby on Rails backend and React and Next.js frontends.
  • Implement Next.js best practices, including SSR/SSG, routing, and performance optimization.
  • Proactively improve codebase quality, processes, and architecture.
  • Collaborate with company leaders throughout feature design.
  • Partner with designers to create a high-quality user experience.
  • Prioritize rapid iteration while maintaining code and user-experience quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer working on complex, large-scale web applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, MySQL or PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS.
  • Familiarity with both frontend and backend development.
  • Ability to work autonomously, collaborate effectively, and take personal accountability.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and learning new technologies as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working on a fully distributed remote team.
  • English proficiency at CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with creator platforms, social content and video feeds, or marketplaces.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation to optimize user experience, performance, and conversion in consumer-facing applications.
  • Exposure to search, recommendation, and personalization systems at scale.
  • Production experience with Next.js and hybrid React/Next.js systems for high-traffic applications.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $130,000–$140,000 USD per year.
