DatadogDatadog

Senior Product Manager

Senior Product Manager shaping Datadog's Observability Data Platform (control plane and data layer). Define roadmap for ingestion/storage/routing at planet scale, partner with engineering on infrastructure trade-offs, engage customers on pain points, and drive pricing/packaging decisions. Requires 5+ years PM experience on infrastructure or data products plus strong distributed systems knowledge.

About the job

What You Will Do

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Observability Data Platform customers – platform engineers, SREs, and product managers that own the product verticals – their infrastructure challenges, deployment topologies, and cost-to-serve trade-offs.
  • Define product direction across multiple ODP surfaces, including the control plane and data layer, by articulating clear problem statements and desired outcomes, and partnering with engineering on technical approach and sequencing.
  • Lead conversations with design partners and strategic customers to understand real-world platform pain points, validate product assumptions, and guide solutions from early prototypes through General Availability.
  • Develop a command of the unit economics of the platform surfaces you own and bring that cost-profile understanding into pricing and packaging conversations in partnership with Engineering and the Director of Pricing.
  • Anticipate and communicate market trends relating to AI-native infrastructure patterns – including how they reshape platform engineering decisions – and translate them into actionable product direction.
  • Drive discussions across engineering, product, and commercial-facing PMs by providing clearly articulated problem statements to deliver seamless cross-product experiences and unified platform capabilities.
  • Support active customer engagements by partnering with commercial-facing PMs and contributing to executive-level conversations on architecture, value, and platform roadmap.
  • Track adoption and measure impact for your product areas and iterate rapidly based on data and customer conversations.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally working on a developer-focused SaaS platform, infrastructure, or data product.
  • Strong cross-org navigator – you read how decisions get made across engineering, product, commercial, and pricing teams; you surface the right decisions, hold the pen across organizational lines, and keep work moving when stakeholders disagree.
  • Command of distributed data infrastructure concepts and can engage credibly with engineering on technical trade-offs, scalability constraints, and platform architecture.
  • Comfortable distilling complex architecture, cost-to-serve trade-offs, and product priorities into clear, actionable context for engineers, leadership, and customers.
  • Collaborative and opinionated – you build trust quickly with engineers, PM peers, designers, and commercial partners; you bring strong product opinions and adapt when new evidence emerges.
  • Thrive in fast-moving, high-growth environments and are energized by scope that develops over time in a complex, cross-platform environment.
  • Highly customer-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to high quality standards.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with observability platforms, cloud-native infrastructure, multi-cloud or hybrid deployment models, data pipeline architecture, or pricing and packaging for platform products.

Compensation & Benefits

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing.
  • Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking.
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds.
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our Internal panel discussions.
  • Free, global Spring Health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+.
  • Competitive global benefits.
  • 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, fitness reimbursements, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.
