Founding Designer

Responsibilities

• Own design end-to-end as the first designer, shipping fast with the founders.
• Design across a large surface area, including critical internal tools and customer-facing product for legal and medical workflows.
• Simplify extremely large, messy contexts such as medical records (scanned, duplicative, faxed information ingested in thousands of pages).
• Design for scale, ensuring the product works effectively for customers running thousands of cases at once, both in aggregate and for individual cases.
• Layer AI as a tool to facilitate or automate workflows seamlessly, so users barely notice it.
• Shape the design language and system from the ground up, tailored to customers and industry.
• Identify drop-offs in flows, investigate causes, and lead related projects.
• Prototype quickly, ideally in code.

Requirements

• Have been the first or an early designer at a previous company and want to own the design function.
• Senior enough to run design solo and set your own direction.
• Able to make dense products feel simple, with a portfolio demonstrating this.
• Excited about AI-native products and how people work with them.
• Primarily a product designer who can stretch into brand.
• Fully in person in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
• Portfolio required.
