About the role

Responsibilities

  • Handle the most complex billing scenarios, escalations, and exception cases that go beyond standard playbooks
  • Make defensible calls in ambiguous situations and own the outcome end to end
  • Oversee day-to-day billing operations across multiple outsourced partner teams in separate locations
  • Establish performance standards, run quality audits, and serve as the primary escalation point
  • Get results through clarity, trust, and accountability without direct authority over headcount
  • Bridge billing and product by keeping operational reality in sync with what Product is shipping
  • Catch gaps before they become downstream problems
  • Own knowledge management in Guru and keep SOPs current and actionable for internal and BPO staff
  • Collaborate with Billing Training and Enablement Manager to develop training that actually sticks
  • Maintain thorough, defensible records across internal and outsourced workflows

Requirements

  • At least 1+ year of direct experience working with or managing outsourced (BPO) teams, including multi-site or multi-location operations
  • Track record of holding external partners accountable to high standards without direct staffing authority
  • Expert-level knowledge of provider billing practices and exception handling

Nice-to-Haves

  • Hands-on experience with litigation services, deposition billing, or court reporter provider workflows
