Senior Product Designer — Design Systems
Senior Product Designer specializing in design systems will scale reusable, accessible patterns across a product platform, modernize legacy experiences, and improve design-to-development workflows. The role requires significant design-system experience, advanced Figma skills, strong engineering partnership, and hands-on AI-tool experience.

Responsibilities
- Scale and evolve the design system, focusing on high-traffic legacy experiences.
- Audit existing experiences to identify component gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for consolidation.
- Partner with engineers to create scalable, accessible, production-ready components.
- Champion usability, accessibility, consistency, and quality across the product.
- Establish and communicate design-system principles and decisions across the organization.
- Explore AI-enabled workflows for component discovery, documentation, quality checks, and pattern generation.
- Reduce duplication and improve efficiency across design and engineering.
- Measure and improve system adoption, usability, and effectiveness.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of product design experience, including significant design-system experience.
- Proven experience building, scaling, or evolving a design system.
- Strong expertise in component-based design and reusable interaction patterns.
- Advanced Figma skills and familiarity with modern design-system workflows.
- Strong understanding of how design systems translate into production code.
- Experience partnering closely with engineers and navigating tradeoffs between flexibility, consistency, and scalability.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and curiosity about applying them to design systems.
- Excellent visual, interaction, communication, and systems-thinking skills.
- Portfolio demonstrating meaningful design-system work.
Nice to Have
- Fintech and/or ecommerce experience.
Compensation and Employment Terms
- Begins as a 6-month contract, with the intention to convert to full-time based on mutual fit and business needs.
- Rate: $95/hour.
