Director, Field Engineering

Leads managers and pre-sales Solutions Architects supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and growth across Canada. The role requires substantial second-line leadership, enterprise software pre-sales experience, strategic-account expertise, and the ability to build cross-functional customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Hire and manage first-line managers and a growing team of technical pre-sales Solutions Architects.
  • Build a collaborative culture within a rapid-growth team and promote customer-obsessed, teamwork-oriented, and diverse practices.
  • Increase the return on investment of Solutions Architect involvement in sales cycles.
  • Create trust-based, long-term customer relationships and understand category-specific landscapes and trends.
  • Promote solution- and value-based selling across the field-engineering organization.
  • Assess business needs and revenue potential for accounts in the assigned region.
  • Build the company’s brand in Canada in partnership with Marketing and Sales.
  • Support complex sales cycles, communicate complex business-value-focused solutions, and build relationships with stakeholders in large corporations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of second-line leadership experience managing managers and teams of 20+ individuals.
  • Enterprise software pre-sales success in a high-growth environment, including experience in the Canadian region.
  • Track record of driving large transactions and high-growth customers.
  • Proven ability to influence, develop, and empower teams to achieve objectives collaboratively.
  • Track record of transformational success and customer-value delivery.
  • Experience building customer relationships and cross-functional partnerships with Sales, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Experience with complex strategic accounts generating more than $5M ARR.
  • Knowledge of and passion for data-driven decisions, AI, and cloud software models.
  • Ability to institute processes that improve technical field-team efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Compensation

  • Canada pay range: $221,200–$304,150 CAD.
  • Total compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, equity, and regional benefits.
