Leads and develops a team of three to eight engineers while owning delivery, release health, engineering quality, and production outcomes for customer-facing AI experiences. Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery for the Bolt team, including velocity, predictability, quality, release readiness, and production outcomes.
- Lead and grow a team of three to eight engineers through 1:1s, feedback, career development, hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Shape team cycles and planning around honest engineering analysis, capacity, constraints, dependencies, and delivery risk.
- Partner with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering leadership to translate outcomes into deliverable scope and coordinate cross-team work.
- Own the engineering–QA contract, release health, quality gates, deployment, and operational readiness.
- Reinforce standards for code quality, reviews, testing, architecture, and responsible AI engineering.
- Evaluate AI behavior, prompts, models, retrieval, tools, and orchestration using regression coverage, repeatable evaluations, release gates, progressive rollout, monitoring, rollback, and feedback loops.
- Use correctness, relevance, safety, latency, reliability, adoption, and cost signals to assess release health and guide trade-offs.
- Review high-risk pull requests, engage in technical challenges, and participate in incident response.
- Design and operate production AI systems involving agent workflows, knowledge grounding and retrieval, tool use, human escalation, observability, evaluation, and safe rollout.
- Drive effective use of AI tooling across the software development lifecycle and measure its delivery impact.
- Build a culture of excellence, ownership, psychological safety, and clear communication.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in a complex, multi-tenant SaaS product, including meaningful hands-on technical work.
- 1+ years leading engineers as a manager, tech lead, or team lead.
- Technical depth in PHP/Laravel, TypeScript, NestJS/Angular, MongoDB, and AWS sufficient for architecture discussions, pull-request reviews, and technical trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience delivering customer-facing AI or agentic capabilities in production.
- Working knowledge of knowledge grounding and retrieval, tool use, evaluation and regression testing, human-in-the-loop design, observability, latency, reliability, safety, and cost.
