Staff Outcome Designer
Build the platform, automation, governance, and telemetry that scale an agentic design system, while leading exploratory agentic customer-experience projects. Requires staff-level experience with design systems, production infrastructure, automation, and ambiguous cross-functional initiatives.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Architect and build an agentic design system platform, including components, patterns, documentation, and utilities such as MCPs, skills, and plugins.
- Build intake and automated evaluation systems to triage design requests and contributions and check them against standards.
- Build release QA automation to identify quality and consistency issues before launch.
- Create production telemetry and feedback loops that measure whether shipped design work performs as intended and feed insights back into the platform.
- Lead moonshot projects exploring future agentic customer experiences, collaborating across design and engineering.
- Determine where human review gates are needed versus where automation should make decisions, and defend those choices with examples.
- Ship and maintain systems using Docker, EKS/Kubernetes on AWS, and GitHub CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in reviews and advise the Head of Department on strategic initiatives and the design roadmap.
Requirements
- Deep, hands-on experience building and scaling agentic design systems, including automated documentation, synchronization between code and design sources of truth, governance, visual linting or auditing, automated reviews, and designer utilities.
- Experience building production or release infrastructure, such as automated pipelines, intake and evaluation systems, QA automation, or telemetry.
- Familiarity with Docker, EKS/Kubernetes on AWS, GitHub CI/CD pipelines, or comparable deployment stacks.
- Ability to make and defend decisions about human review gates and automation.
- Track record leading ambiguous, cross-functional exploratory or moonshot projects.
- Comfort being the first person in a role and creating a playbook from scratch.
Nice-to-haves
- Active contributions to the design systems community through writing, speaking, open source, or similar work.
- Experience with knowledge graphs, vector stores, or other semantic infrastructure for agent context and memory.
- Familiarity with evaluation and validation frameworks for agentic outputs.
- Exposure to emerging agentic technology in private or defense sectors.
Success indicators
- A working agentic design platform is adopted by Product Designers and Design Engineers.
- At least one production support system, such as intake/evaluation, release QA, or telemetry, measurably reduces manual work or catches issues before release.
- Governance processes catch quality issues before they compound.
- The systems are integrated into the deployment and CI pipeline without creating excessive maintenance.
- At least one moonshot exploration into agentic customer experiences is underway with cross-functional participation.
- Adoption and impact are demonstrated with measurable data.
- The role becomes a trusted technical partner for Product Designers and Design Engineers.
