Responsibilities
- Hire and bootstrap the Core Frontier team in Bengaluru, establishing its technical bar and engineering culture while collaborating with global teams in Europe and North America.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Security, Design, Architecture, and QA to deliver reliable, secure, scalable features and a cohesive customer experience.
- Evolve engineering processes and best practices to keep the team agile, healthy, and high-performing.
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap and provide technical context and clarity.
- Coach and manage engineers through 1:1s, performance reviews, ceremonies, and other people-management activities.
- Own team health, delivery, and reports’ growth and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and code contributions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of total experience, including 3+ years of engineering management experience and a strong individual-contributor foundation.
- Experience leading teams that build highly reliable, secure, and scalable distributed systems.
- Track record of coaching engineers at various career stages and fostering technical growth.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across time zones and technical and non-technical functions.
- Systematic approach to technical and organizational challenges, with strong ownership.
- Ability and desire to remain technically capable and contribute to development and architectural strategy.
Nice to have
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) experience.
- Node.js and AWS experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining public-facing secure APIs.
