Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to a team of software engineers.
- Drive the architectural vision and long-term technical roadmap for the Validation and Eval product suite.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define features and translate requirements into technical designs.
- Lead the design and implementation of complex, mission-critical components.
- Enforce engineering best practices through design reviews, code reviews, and operational quality standards.
- Contribute hands-on to the codebase and guide the team through complex technical challenges.
- Recruit, hire, and grow the engineering team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of commercial software development experience.
- At least one JVM language, such as Java, preferably with the Spring ecosystem.
- Strong Python experience.
- 2+ years leading, coaching, and mentoring software engineers.
- Experience with software architecture and development.
- Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks and harnesses, benchmark datasets, scoring and grading approaches, and LLM-as-a-judge methodologies.
- Experience with application and database modernization, including frameworks for database state equivalence across implementations.
- Understanding of change data capture, event-driven database interception, MongoDB listeners, RDBMS triggers, and state comparison algorithms with pattern-based exclusions.
- Experience with relational and document data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with at least one SQL database and one document database.
- Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and time and space complexity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Curiosity, a positive attitude, and commitment to continuous learning.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with DeepEval, Ragas, or Promptfoo.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
