Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale decentralized matching engines, risk systems, limit order books, and surrounding backend systems for a high-performance trading protocol.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership on architecture, timelines, and engineering tradeoffs.
- Promote engineering best practices through architecture guidance, code reviews, performance optimization, testing, efficiency improvements, and other engineering excellence initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, researchers, and product managers to turn requirements into products and lead execution end to end.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Experience developing trading systems at a mid- or high-frequency trading firm, including exchange communication such as order entry and low-latency feed handlers; or experience with exchange infrastructure involving low-latency order intake, risk checks, and matching.
- Strong experience with one or more systems or backend programming languages, such as Go, Rust, C++, or Python.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and software architectures.
- Excellent coding, debugging, and computer science fundamentals.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Compensation
- Salary range: $230,000–$305,000 USD, depending on experience and location.
- Variable compensation such as merit increases, bonuses, commissions, and equity may be available in addition to salary.
