Senior Engineering Manager, API Catalog
Leads a senior engineering team responsible for scaling Postman’s API Catalog into an enterprise system of record. The role combines people leadership, architecture, cross-team execution, and production ownership across integrations, federation, governance, reporting, and reliability.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a senior engineering team; hire deliberately and establish a clear technical bar.
- Set goals, provide direct feedback, make team work legible, and distribute ownership of critical systems.
- Coordinate delivery across teams owning specification tooling, API clients, integrations, ecosystem services, and shared platforms.
- Define clear contracts with dependent teams, secure commitments, sequence work, and unblock cross-team execution.
- Drive architecture and execution for API ingestion, federation, service models, reporting, and deployment data layers.
- Design for correctness, multi-tenant isolation, cost per tenant, reliability, and scalable enterprise integrations.
- Support repository providers, cloud and self-hosted API gateways, clusters, and on-premises deployments.
- Establish reporting accuracy standards and measurement; maintain safe rollouts, testing, design reviews, and instrumentation.
- Own the API Catalog engineering roadmap, milestones, tradeoffs, production reliability, and support burden.
- Reduce recurring operational toil through system design improvements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years leading engineering teams.
- Demonstrated depth solving and debugging complex technical problems personally.
- Experience scaling a validated product from 1→10 for large enterprise adoption.
- Production ownership of broad enterprise integration surfaces involving multiple third-party providers, authentication methods, rate limits, permission models, and cloud/self-hosted environments.
- Experience shipping work dependent on teams outside your reporting line.
- Experience leading senior-heavy engineering teams.
- Experience with multi-tenant enterprise SaaS, on-premises or self-managed infrastructure, and compliance requirements.
- Full lifecycle ownership from design through production support.
- Clear communication with engineers, executives, and customers.
Nice to Have
- API gateway technologies.
- AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure control-plane APIs.
- Kubernetes.
- CI/CD systems and developer workflow tooling.
- Analytical datastores for customer-facing reporting, such as ClickHouse.
- Event-driven and asynchronous API technologies, particularly Kafka.
- Governance, audit, or compliance reporting for enterprise customers.
