Responsibilities
- Direct, mentor, and foster the growth of a dedicated team of three cloud infrastructure engineers based in India.
- Facilitate team development of strategy and scope across multiple timeframes and contribute directly to planning.
- Guide modernization of existing infrastructure and integration of legacy systems into a unified cloud architecture.
- Coordinate workstreams and prioritize work based on technical dependencies, business urgency, and related considerations.
- Identify and support technical and leadership growth opportunities for team members.
- Foster a collaborative atmosphere that delivers business value with increasing velocity.
- Promote socialization, reuse, and further value extraction from engineering deliverables such as code and documentation.
- Maintain informative communications and collaborative relationships across globally distributed teams.
- Communicate team goals, activities, requirements, and measures of success to upper management.
- Act as a stakeholder for cloud and related systems, focusing on their long-term health, performance, efficiency, and utility.
- Participate in an on-call system for high-urgency issues.
- Use AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a relevant engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of engineering experience, including at least 1+ year leading and managing cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE teams.
- Hands-on senior or lead engineering experience before transitioning into team management.
- Strong technical and organizational leadership, with an inter- and intra-team facilitator mindset.
- Hands-on experience managing, architecting, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows systems.
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, Atmos, Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, containerization, Kafka, SQL databases, cloud networking, and Python.
- Experience driving infrastructure modernization and integrating established systems into modern cloud-native environments.
- Experience managing strict cloud security and compliance requirements, specifically PCI and SOC 2.
- Experience crafting disaster recovery plans and architecting technical solutions.
- Track record of developing cloud infrastructure that meets product requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex technical information clearly to varied audiences.
- Experience using AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes.
