Software Engineer Manager, Okta Developer Foundation
Leads platform engineering strategy and manages teams building AI-enhanced continuous delivery, automation, and internal developer tools. The role requires experience with distributed systems, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering team leadership.

Responsibilities
- Drive the strategy for building and incorporating AI/ML-powered tools to enhance developer velocity, automate complex tasks in continuous integration, and provide intelligent insights into system performance and code quality.
- Articulate and drive a technical, strategic vision and roadmap.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Program Management, Operations, and other scrum teams.
- Recruit and mentor a globally distributed and talented group of diverse employees.
- Build high-quality tools and automation for internal use to support continuous delivery and developer productivity.
- Roll out deliverables to internal customers in phases, monitor adoption, collect feedback, and fine-tune projects to meet internal customer needs.
- Champion engineering and operational excellence by establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
- Foster, enable, and promote innovation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience leading or managing high-performing platform teams.
- Experience with end-to-end project delivery, including building roadmaps through operational sustainability.
- Strong facilitation skills, including design, requirements gathering, and progress and status sessions.
- Production experience with distributed systems running in AWS; GCP experience is a bonus.
- Passion for automation and agile software development methodologies.
- Experience developing continuous delivery pipelines for diverse projects using Java, Jenkins, AWS, Docker, Python, Ruby, and Bash.
- Experience building internal developer tools.
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
