AI-Enabled Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design multi-agent systems with coding-focused agents, such as code writers, reviewers, testers, and deployers.
• Write prompts, logic, and scaffolding that guide agent behavior.
• Enable agents to use tools including file systems, test runners, version control, and internal APIs.
• Evaluate and refine agent output, performance, collaboration patterns, and feedback loops.
• Prototype coding-assistant workflows using open-source LLMs and internal knowledge bases.
• Lead architecture discussions on agentic build pipelines and automated pull-request generation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to build fast, AI-powered interfaces for internal tooling.
• Help define evaluation frameworks for AI contributions, including accuracy, speed, and impact.
• Mentor teammates on combining TypeScript and AI tools for UI prototyping.
• Explore best practices for safely and securely integrating generative AI into public-sector codebases.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with at least part of the following stack: Java, TypeScript, React, and MySQL.
• Extensive applied experience with AI-assisted development tooling, such as Cursor, Windsurf, LLM APIs, code-generation platforms, vector databases, agentic frameworks such as LangChain, or custom-built systems.
• Strong product mindset and interest in building technology for real-world impact.
• Willingness to experiment, iterate, and continuously learn.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping define best practices in a rapidly evolving space.
• Ability to learn, adapt, and creatively apply AI in practical settings.
