Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own features and systems powering the Cash App Taxes filing experience, including federal and state form logic and e-file submission.
- Translate complex tax rules and requirements into clean, maintainable, well-tested code in partnership with Tax Product Specialists.
- Build tools and guardrails that enable non-technical contributors to make safe code changes while maintaining quality standards.
- Drive architectural and design decisions for scalable, secure, and maintainable tax software.
- Establish best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Tax Product Specialists, Cloud Platform, Design, Product, Customer Care, and other teams.
- Identify and resolve issues involving accuracy, reliability, and performance.
- Apply emerging technologies and an AI-first approach to improve development processes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software development experience; tax-industry experience is a plus.
- Strong backend-development skills, including system design, architecture, and object-oriented programming.
- Track record of delivering reliable, high-quality software on schedule.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
