- Evolve the AI integration client ecosystem, enabling secure connections to external tools, data sources, and enterprise systems.
- Own backend service design for high-throughput, low-latency APIs supporting agent workflows and cross-system orchestration.
- Define identity, authentication, and trust-boundary strategies for integrations, including OAuth and service-to-service authentication.
- Partner with product and engineering leaders on roadmap, technical strategy, and platform capabilities.
- Drive reliability through SLOs/SLAs, observability, resilience, incident readiness, and performance optimization.
- Raise engineering standards through architecture reviews, design practices, testing strategy, and mentorship.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production backend systems.
- Experience with TypeScript, Deno, Node.js, or Bun.
- Experience designing and shipping API-driven platform services and distributed systems, including microservices, event-driven architectures, and secure service-to-service communication.
- Experience building AI integration layers, such as MCP clients and servers, tool orchestration, external API connectors, and authentication mediation.
- Deep knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, API keys, token lifecycle management, secret management, and least-privilege access.
- Cloud-native experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and production operations.
- Experience with observability and reliability engineering, including metrics, SLOs/SLAs, alerting, incident response, and performance tuning.
- Strong backend fundamentals with modern server frameworks and data systems such as TypeScript/Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
