Software Engineer, Treasury

Build and operate highly reliable backend services for Treasury, including ledger, ACH, wire, and reconciliation systems that manage money movement between Lithic and financial institutions. The role requires strong curiosity, autonomy, Python experience, and—at senior level—distributed-systems expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Own initiatives from planning through launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned while maintaining a high quality bar.
  • Learn the business domains and technical stacks to build a comprehensive understanding of the Treasury ecosystem and money movement.
  • Improve system resilience and ensure high reliability and correctness for the ledger and orchestrated funds flows.
  • For senior-level candidates, lead architectural direction and solve complex technical challenges as systems scale.

Requirements

  • Strong business and technical curiosity, with the ability to investigate systems deeply and understand root causes and broader financial impacts.
  • A structured, growth-oriented approach to learning complex systems.
  • High autonomy, agency, and urgency in delivering high-quality solutions.
  • For senior-level candidates, experience building distributed systems and designing high-stakes infrastructure where reliability and correctness are foundational.
  • Primarily working knowledge of Python and cloud-native systems.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, Kinesis, Lambda, and Step Functions.
  • Prior fintech experience is not required.

Compensation

  • Annual US salary range: $160,000–$200,000, plus equity.
  • Unlimited PTO.
