Software Engineer, Core Platform

Responsibilities

• Develop backend software and APIs for ingesting, processing, and routing data.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain clear, concise, robust code.
• Partner with engineers, designers, and product managers to translate feature specifications into product designs and implementable code.
• Create rich test plans and comprehensive automated tests.
• Own software end to end, including participation in the on-call/support rotation.
• Take initiative to help the broader team achieve desired outcomes.
• Participate in standby, on-call, or off-hours duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, basic networking, operating systems, distributed systems, and scalability principles.
• Experience building products that leverage large-scale datasets using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with systems-level debugging, networking, performance profiling, and tuning.
• Ability to learn new technologies and root-cause complex problems.
• Experience with Agile processes and rapid iterative development.
• Strong ownership and focus on high-quality, high-performing deliverables.
• Experience developing software or services for cloud-based platforms.
• Ability to comply with U.S. government security requirements for access to FedRAMP-authorized systems, which may include U.S. citizenship.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: $150,000–$175,000 USD.
• Eligibility for the Cribl Corporate Bonus Program.
