Lead Software Development Engineer in Test - Mobile
Leads the quality strategy and automation framework for Flutter-based iOS and Android applications. The role requires 7+ years of mobile testing experience, strong programming and CI/CD expertise, AI-assisted testing experience, and technical leadership across QA initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mobile testing and automation for iOS and Android applications built using Flutter.
- Architect, enhance, and own scalable mobile automation frameworks using Appium, Flutter Integration Tests, Espresso, and Maestro Test.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted testing, including test generation, failure analysis, flaky test reduction, intelligent reporting, and prompt-based workflows.
- Define and execute test strategies covering functional, regression, performance, reliability, and non-functional testing.
- Debug complex issues across automation code, application behavior, device and platform differences, and CI infrastructure.
- Own release quality, including automated regressions, risk assessment, and final QA sign-offs.
- Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and DevOps to improve testability and reduce production defects.
- Mentor and technically guide SDETs and interns; set coding, review, and automation best practices.
- Track and report quality metrics, automation ROI, and coverage to stakeholders.
- Continuously improve QA processes to reduce cycle time and increase release confidence.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in mobile testing and automation, with lead-level ownership.
- Strong hands-on experience with Flutter-based mobile apps and testing frameworks such as Flutter Integration Tests, Appium, Espresso, and Maestro.
- Excellent programming skills in Dart, Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining robust, scalable test automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of mobile-specific challenges, including platform differences, lifecycle, performance, memory, and network behavior.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, or custom LLM workflows.
- Experience with cloud device farms such as Firebase Test Lab, BrowserStack, and Sauce Labs.
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Codemagic, Bitrise, or GitHub Actions.
- Ability to perform deep root-cause analysis for automation failures and production issues.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile environments and driving quality initiatives independently.
- Experience with mobile performance testing, including startup time, FPS, memory, battery, and jank.
- Solid understanding of API testing and backend dependencies.
