Responsibilities
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents with risk-focused feedback.
- Design and evolve scalable Java automation frameworks emphasizing reliability, performance, and data correctness.
- Develop test strategies for complex features and automate testing across multiple environments.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines with validation layers that prevent silent failures and regressions.
- Build AI/LLM-powered tools for debugging, failure triage, test scenario generation, flaky-pattern detection, log analysis, and root-cause identification.
- Design AI-assisted workflows and agent-based systems integrated with automation and release pipelines.
- Measure and improve reliability, automation efficiency, and defect-prevention outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to establish quality ownership and automation-first practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software industry experience focused on quality, automation, and engineering excellence.
- Strong proficiency in Java and understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Experience designing scalable automation frameworks and identifying negative, edge, and high-risk scenarios.
- Understanding of distributed-systems risks, including schema drift, idempotency failures, data inconsistencies, and race conditions.
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure and containerized environments.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or Buildkite.
- Experience with backend automation frameworks.
- Experience testing data pipelines or ELT platforms, including CDC mechanisms, connector-based ingestion, and source-to-destination data validation at scale.
- Deep understanding of database internals.
- Demonstrated use of AI/LLM tools to accelerate development, debugging, test design, or automation.
- Experience building AI-assisted tools, workflows, or agents for engineering pipelines.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience testing Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Familiarity with binlog- and WAL-based CDC, schema drift, and schema evolution.
- Experience with distributed-systems testing, large-scale data reconciliation, and Docker or Kubernetes on cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with API polling, batch/file ingestion, and query-based incremental synchronization.
