Responsibilities
Test Automation Framework Architecture
- Maintain and expand reusable test automation frameworks and performance suites for native macOS desktop applications.
- Develop automated functional and integration tests covering OS-level components, network interception, and local security configurations.
- Triage and eliminate flaky UI tests to improve CI/CD stability.
Quality Engineering & Product Strategy
- Participate in product ideation, technical architecture, and system design discussions, providing quality scaffolding and risk analysis.
- Own test planning, execution, and effort estimation for the Okta Verify macOS application.
- Build automated infrastructure for complex testing scenarios, including migration of legacy Objective-C components to Swift.
CI/CD & DevOps
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as CircleCI.
- Partner with Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to optimize test environments and regression alerts.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering in Test roles.
- 1+ year focused on automated validation of native macOS desktop applications.
- Strong programming skills in Swift, Objective-C, Java, or Python, with the ability to write maintainable automation code.
- Understanding of macOS development paradigms, XCTest/XCUITest, application sandboxing, and Apple developer tools.
- Experience with cross-platform automation tools, UI testing frameworks, and API validation engines such as REST, gRPC, or WebSockets.
- Experience with CI/CD systems such as CircleCI, containerization with Kubernetes or Docker, and standard logging frameworks.
- B.Tech or B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing security software, enterprise Identity and Access Management systems, or cryptographic applications.
- Familiarity with MDM profiles, enterprise software deployment mechanisms on macOS, Endpoint Security, and Local Authentication.
