Senior Solutions Architect - AI & Platforms SME
Serves as an AI-focused technical advisor and pre-sales partner, designing platform architectures, leading evaluations and workshops, and guiding strategic customers through DevSecOps transformation. Requires hands-on AI expertise, technical pre-sales or consulting experience, cloud knowledge, and familiarity with modern software delivery.

Responsibilities
- Act as an AI subject matter expert focused on platforms.
- Lead technical discovery, architecture design, demonstrations, and end-to-end proof-of-concept/proof-of-value evaluations for GitLab’s agentic, AI-powered DevSecOps platform.
- Drive AI-focused solution strategy, competitive positioning, and business-value justification.
- Own technical strategy and influence Customer Success Plans for assigned accounts, acting as the technical CTO for transformation initiatives across the DevSecOps lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing on account strategies, territory planning, and platform adoption.
- Provide advanced technical guidance during pre-sales, including tender and audit support, workshop design, and complex integration and implementation challenges.
- Translate customer feedback into product requirements, documentation improvements, and roadmap input, particularly for AI, security, and platform capabilities.
- Create reusable technical assets, including reference architectures, working examples, best-practice guides, and internal enablement content.
- Mentor other Solutions Architects and contribute to global Center of Excellence initiatives.
- Participate in thought leadership, standards activities, and ecosystem relationships.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on expertise with AI, including designing or implementing AI-powered solutions or advising on AI adoption.
- Experience in technical pre-sales, software consulting, or a similar role connecting complex technology to business outcomes.
- Practical experience with modern software development or operations, including CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and architectures and secure, scalable application delivery.
- Ability to design and explain architectures spanning multiple teams and phases of the software lifecycle, from planning through monitoring.
- Experience leading technical evaluations and workshops with engineers, executives, and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Must be based in Singapore or Australia and have full working rights in one of those countries.
