Responsibilities
- Design and implement features and performance improvements for highly scalable distributed data pipelines on the cloud.
- Develop, maintain, and test code.
- Conduct design and code reviews.
- Collaborate with peers, product managers, customer support, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality, performant, and scalable products.
- Diagnose and resolve performance and scalability challenges.
- Participate periodically in an on-call rotation.
- Participate in the hiring process.
- Mentor junior developers.
- Improve the reliability and security of customers’ data infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the software industry.
- Experience designing and developing reusable libraries and experimentation platforms for backend and frontend systems from scratch.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud security concepts.
- Ability to write well-structured, performant code and independently lead software and infrastructure design.
- Ability to identify design flaws and develop system improvements.
- Experience with code reviews, design, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Experience programming in an object-oriented or systems language such as Java, C++, or C#.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with containerization methodologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience interacting with continuous integration tools such as Buildkite.
- Ability to use AI coding assistants and conversational AI systems to support software development lifecycle artifacts.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of observability tools such as New Relic or Grafana.
- Experience with data processing, including ETL or ELT, and cloud-based platforms.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $232,338–$290,422 USD.
