Senior Software Engineer
Build and operate production fintech and payment services, APIs, and developer tooling using Go and microservices. The role requires experience delivering complex production systems, working in payments, and maintaining strong standards for testing, observability, and AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities
- Build and expand fintech and payment systems.
- Design and build production services using Go, microservices, databases, and cloud solutions.
- Create APIs and tooling to support products and services.
- Reproduce customer issues and contribute improvements to diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, business development, and leadership to solve problems and plan future work.
- Own the full release lifecycle from feature development through public and hosted release.
- Contribute to system documentation.
- Translate complex requirements into production-ready implementations with a high degree of self-reliance.
- Contribute to Moov’s agentic tooling and guide AI agents in producing maintainable, traceable, standards-compliant code.
- Maintain code quality, testability, telemetry, observability, error handling, and test-first design.
- Mentor fellow engineers and provide technical expertise to development teams.
Requirements
- Experience independently building and planning production systems.
- Experience developing complex software in Go.
- Experience with microservice architectures.
- Experience using AI tools for spec-driven development and providing the context, rules, and specifications needed for high-quality production output.
- Engineering experience in fintech or payments.
- Ability to diagnose issues rapidly and implement solutions in high-availability environments.
- Ability to design simple, creative solutions to complex problems.
- Adaptability and willingness to work across changing priorities.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of ISO specifications related to fintech or payments.
- Experience with database manipulation and optimization.
- Understanding of financial risk and compliance requirements and how to align features with regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of open-source tools and active participation in the open-source community.
- Understanding of AI’s benefits and limitations in technical or financial contexts.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $165,000–$185,000, based on experience, geography, and other factors.
