Senior Software Backend Engineer, Market Pricing

Responsibilities

• Propose and implement scalable systems for sophisticated customers.
• Partner with stakeholders to take ambiguous problems from ideation through enterprise-ready delivery.
• Own the full development lifecycle, from customer conversations through post-release monitoring.
• Set technical direction across projects.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team's engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong focus on performance, reliability, and robust systems design.
• Empathy for compensation teams and understanding of the challenges involved in pricing employee pay.
• Strong judgment when operating in ambiguous situations and weighing tradeoffs.
• Ability to break complex problems into concrete milestones with clear success metrics and drive them to completion with minimal oversight.
• Ability to influence design decisions, mentor engineers, and communicate reasoning clearly.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and ship thoughtful solutions without over-engineering.
