Software Engineer - Forward Deployed
Build customer-specific platform features, prototypes, APIs, automations, and internal tools for financial institutions while partnering with core engineering and cross-functional teams. The role requires at least one year of professional experience and proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or React.

Responsibilities
- Solve novel technical challenges alongside financial institution customers by understanding their use cases and technical constraints, then designing and implementing solutions within the platform.
- Build new platform functionality alongside the platform engineering team.
- Identify product gaps through customer interactions and build features and prototypes that extend existing APIs.
- Build initial solutions quickly, then collaborate with engineering to re-architect them for scale.
- Automate recurring financial institution workflows and create scalable systems and tools that address customer pain points.
- Lead work with financial institutions to identify solutions for the Platform team.
- Partner with Customer Success, Implementations, Product, and Engineering on internal tools and workflow automations.
Requirements
- 1+ years of relevant, post-college professional experience.
- Strong engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another engineering or scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of Python, Django, Django REST Framework, JavaScript, Node.js, or React.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to varied technical challenges and learn new subject matter quickly.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both engineers and executives.
- Passion for understanding customer problems and delivering scalable solutions.
- Eagerness to solve problems, build from the ground up, and work across the organization.
- Curiosity about startup functions including customer engagement, product development, and partner integrations.
- Based in New York City or willing to relocate; comfortable with occasional client travel.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with financial services, core banking systems, or fintech compliance workflows.
- Experience building with large language models and agentic systems.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS, including serverless and infrastructure as code.
- Experience in forward-deployed, implementation, or other customer-facing engineering roles.
Compensation
- Base pay range: $91,000–$110,000 per year.
