Responsibilities
Scheduling & Workforce Planning Support
- Own and maintain the depot schedule, adjusting shift coverage across teams to keep the 24/7 operation staffed and ready.
- Monitor attendance, address real-time coverage gaps, and identify workforce trends.
- Partner with the Operations Manager on workforce planning, risks, and recommendations.
Training & Certification Compliance
- Coordinate training execution across shifts, including partner certifications, safety refreshers, and qualification renewals.
- Maintain certification and qualification records and escalate compliance risks.
- Coordinate with the Program Lead Trainer on qualified trainers, resources, and consistent delivery.
Floor Execution & Quality Standards
- Lead operational systems and processes for AV fleet management, including depot layout, vehicle flow, charging, cleaning, maintenance, staging, diagnostics, parts management, and data handling.
- Serve as operational authority during mid shifts, directing Fleet Operations Leads and Associates and resolving workflow conflicts.
- Enforce vehicle readiness, safety inspections, and quality standards while working alongside the team.
- Maintain shift documentation and disciplined handoffs.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Direct Fleet Operations Leads on priorities, execution decisions, and escalations.
- Provide coaching and structured performance observations in the Operations Manager's absence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in autonomous vehicle or complex fleet operations.
- Experience launching and scaling operational sites or programs, including facilities, team performance, and operational outcomes.
- Expertise in safety management and regulatory compliance in transportation, automotive, or similar regulated industries.
- Experience with incident response and multi-vendor coordination.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed in a 24/7 operation.
- Leadership experience in training execution and team development within safety-critical operations.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
