Leads a cross-functional engineering team building Jam, Spotify’s real-time shared listening experience across mobile, backend, and platform technologies. The role combines people leadership with technical guidance on distributed systems, synchronization, connectivity, and cross-platform delivery.

Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and grow a team of engineers across iOS, Android, backend, and cross-platform technologies.
- Drive delivery of features that power real-time, shared listening experiences.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to shape vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
- Guide the team through technical challenges involving real-time synchronization, device connectivity, and cross-platform consistency.
- Enable high-quality, reliable user experiences across devices and platforms.
- Foster ownership, continuous improvement, and strong engineering practices.
- Create an inclusive and healthy team environment where individuals can grow and do their best work.
Requirements
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Experience building and scaling complex systems, ideally in real-time or distributed environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering across mobile and backend technologies.
- Experience solving challenges related to synchronization, connectivity, or cross-platform development.
- Ability to work across disciplines and influence product and technical direction.
- Ability to balance execution with long-term thinking and make thoughtful, pragmatic decisions.
Work Arrangement
- Based in London or Stockholm.
- Hybrid flexibility with some in-person meetings and the option to work from home.
