Risk Manager - Country & Operational Risk
Manages CBPL’s UK entity-level second-line risk framework while contributing to Coinbase’s global operational risk programs. The role requires 7–10+ years of UK-regulated financial services risk experience and expertise in operational resilience, outsourcing, regulatory governance, and board-level risk reporting.

Responsibilities
- Own CBPL's entity-level risk framework, including RCSAs, incident and issue management, KRI/KCI monitoring, and risk-appetite reporting for the CBPL Risk Committee and Board.
- Lead second-line-of-defence risk challenge on new products, change initiatives, and governance across CBPL, including MiFID-related change.
- Drive CBPL outsourcing and third-party risk oversight, including intra-group arrangements, exit planning, concentration risk, and operational resilience for important business services.
- Build and enhance Coinbase's global Operational Risk Management framework, owning program areas such as incident management, scenario analysis, resilience, or loss analytics.
- Partner with global product and operations teams as a trusted second-line-of-defence advisor, reviewing new products and change for operational-risk impacts with a focus on the UK footprint.
- Strengthen risk culture across CBPL and Global ORM by clarifying first-line/second-line roles, coaching first-line leaders, and embedding UK regulatory expectations in everyday decisions.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of risk management experience in UK-regulated financial services, with depth in operational risk, enterprise risk frameworks, and three-lines-of-defence governance.
- Practical experience applying UK regulatory frameworks, including SYSC, MiFIDPRU/IFPR, operational resilience, outsourcing, conduct, and Consumer Duty, to entity-level risk programs.
- Experience preparing decision-useful risk management information for boards, risk committees, and regulators, and engaging with internal audit as a second-line-of-defence function.
- Ability to design and implement risk processes, including RCSAs, KRIs, incident management, and scenario analysis, at both entity and group level within a matrixed, global organization.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary: £95,490–£106,100 GBP.
- Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
