Senior Manager, Accounting

Leads General Ledger, technical accounting, financial reporting, close, audit, and scalable process improvement while managing and developing an accounting team. Responsibilities

  • Lead General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting operations.
  • Lead annual financial statement audits and quarterly reviews, including external auditor relationships.
  • Own monthly financial reporting and quarterly and annual financial statement preparation in Workiva.
  • Research and implement technical accounting conclusions for complex and emerging transactions under US GAAP.
  • Oversee stock-based compensation and equity administration and accounting.
  • Review financial statements, General Ledger accounts, journal entries, reconciliations, analyses, and supporting schedules.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across assigned accounting areas.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
  • Improve accounting policies, internal controls, documentation, reporting processes, and operational scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies while maintaining auditability and strong controls.
  • Partner with FP&A, Legal, People Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and other business leaders.
  • Drive complex cross-functional accounting initiatives through resolution.

First 90 Days

  • Learn the accounting operations, systems, and organizational structure.
  • Build relationships with key cross-functional partners.
  • Take ownership of assigned General Ledger processes and identify efficiency, control, and scalability improvements.
  • Assess close, reconciliation, and review processes and implement appropriate quick wins.
  • Establish credibility through leadership, coaching, and clear expectations.

Requirements

  • CPA required.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong technical accounting experience across General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, and US GAAP.
  • Experience leading monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes in a high-growth, public-company, or public-company-ready environment.
  • Experience developing high-performing accounting teams and fostering accountability and ownership.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to independently resolve complex accounting and operational matters.
  • Demonstrated success with technology, automation, process redesign, and scalable internal controls.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional partnership, and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Public accounting or public-company experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Workiva, or similar ERP and financial reporting platforms.
  • Experience applying AI-enabled tools and automation to accounting workflows.
  • Experience in high-growth healthcare, technology, or similarly complex businesses.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation range: $129,000–$166,500 USD.
  • Location-based compensation structure; starting pay depends on qualifications and experience.
