Senior Accountant, Brokerage and Derivatives
Owns close, accounting controls, audit coordination, and regulatory reporting for Coinbase’s brokerage and derivatives entities. The role requires an active CPA, a bachelor’s degree, 5–7 years of accounting experience, and familiarity with regulated financial environments.

Responsibilities
- Own the monthly close for Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and Broker-Dealer entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and quarterly and annual reporting.
- Prepare regulatory reporting for the CFTC, NFA, and other applicable regulators, monitoring capital and liquidity requirements daily.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and drive cross-functional stakeholder alignment and successful audit outcomes.
- Design, execute, and improve internal controls over accounting, regulatory reporting, and compliance processes.
- Partner with Accounting, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance on new product launches and business initiatives to ensure accounting and regulatory readiness.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and scale accounting operations through technology and process improvement.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience in public accounting, industry accounting, or a combination of both.
- Active CPA license.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance in environments governed by FINRA, SEC, CFTC, or NFA requirements preferred.
- Ability to translate complex business activity into sound accounting processes and communicate technical issues clearly.
- Ability to manage concurrent audit, close, and reporting priorities under regulatory deadlines.
- Availability to work Eastern Time hours.
- Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary: $130,900–$154,000 USD.
- Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
