Leads strategy, communications, events, and operational systems for a large contributor community, using feedback and metrics to improve engagement and retention. Responsibilities
- Create strategies to increase contributor participation and satisfaction across Reddit and the Outlier Community.
- Develop systems to efficiently channel questions, feedback, and disputes across community platforms and social channels.
- Set direction for multi-team initiatives and promote clarity and alignment.
- Organize virtual events, monitor community sentiment, and proactively mitigate risks and address concerns.
- Use user feedback, insights, and quantitative metrics to improve product and operational strategies.
- Foster ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and removal of structural blockers.
- Collaborate with operations, support, communications, marketing, and legal teams to maintain alignment and cohesive messaging.
- Draft communications sent to contributors throughout the contributor journey.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, or project management.
- Experience managing large-scale communities with thousands of members on platforms such as Slack, Discord, or Discourse.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with clear, concise, tone-appropriate writing.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into accessible content.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to analyze metrics and adapt strategies.
- High ownership and willingness to execute operational tasks directly.
- Passion for building positive, engaging community experiences.
- Ability to use SQL and/or Claude Code to derive insights from data, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience managing at least one direct report and holding them accountable for outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: $134,400–$168,000 USD annually.
- Compensation may include equity and benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, generous paid time off, and potentially a commuter stipend.
