Community & Events Marketing Manager

Responsibilities

  • Own developer community programming and moderation across Discord, GitHub, forums, and other channels.
  • Build and manage technical events including workshops, hands-on builds, technical dinners, hackathons, meetups, and ecosystem activations.
  • Define community- and event-to-Sales handoffs, including qualification criteria, account mapping, follow-up ownership, and service-level agreements.
  • Develop ecosystem programs with agent frameworks, open-source runtimes, infrastructure partners, and relevant developer communities.
  • Connect community identities and event participation to company and account-level signals.
  • Measure accepted opportunities, cost per accepted opportunity, community-active-to-PQL conversion, pipeline contribution, and strategic-account engagement.
  • Run experiments against cost and conversion targets; scale successful programs and discontinue underperforming ones.
  • Bring structured community feedback into product, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market decisions.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in community, field marketing, events, developer marketing, or a related role for a technical product.
  • Experience managing events with budgets and measurable pipeline or revenue targets.
  • Track record of building or growing technical communities across channels such as Discord, GitHub, forums, meetups, hackathons, or developer conferences.
  • Strong program-management skills across event formats, partners, vendors, budgets, and follow-up processes.
  • Ability to define hypotheses, establish targets and baselines, measure results, and decide whether to repeat programs.
  • Credibility with developers and understanding of technical audiences.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Sales, Growth Engineering, Content, and Product.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness to work in person from the San Francisco office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience marketing infrastructure, developer tools, open-source software, AI products, or usage-based SaaS.
  • Familiarity with AI-agent ecosystems, agent frameworks, model providers, sandboxes, and developer infrastructure.
  • Experience connecting community identities and product usage to CRM accounts or product-qualified leads.
  • Relationships with developer communities, technical event organizers, or the AI infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Experience creating technical content, moderating technical discussions, or supporting hands-on developer workshops.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: $150,000–$200,000.
