Responsibilities
- Own the monthly and quarterly close for DTC memberships and imaging and scan services revenue, including revenue-related journal entries, deferred revenue schedules, and account reconciliations.
- Analyze financial results, investigate fluctuations, and explain balance sheet and income statement variances.
- Investigate revenue-system data quality issues, trace them to root cause, and partner with data engineering and product teams to resolve them.
- Support the Rillet integration by mapping data flows, testing configurations, and defining requirements for a clean, auditable close.
- Reconcile revenue and payment data, including Stripe transaction details, across subledgers, payment processors, and the general ledger.
- Maintain revenue schedules and supporting documentation and prepare audit support for KPMG or other reviewers.
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce manual work and strengthen controls.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience with exposure to revenue accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience performing month-end close, account reconciliations, and flux or variance analysis independently.
- Strong data skills, including manipulating and reconciling large, imperfect datasets in Excel or similar tools.
- Understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition applied to service-based and subscription revenue models.
- Ability to work with messy, undocumented data and immature systems.
- Experience identifying root causes of data quality issues and partnering with product, engineering, and data teams to resolve them.
- Clear communication, proactive judgment, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
Nice to Have
- Big Four public accounting experience.
- CPA designation or active pursuit of certification.
- Experience with subscription-based or health-tech businesses.
- Familiarity with Stripe or other payment processors.
- Experience scoping or testing ERP or revenue-recognition integrations such as Rillet or NetSuite.
- Experience using AI or automation tools, advanced Excel or Sheets, or scripting in accounting workflows.
