Responsibilities
- Build the data API as a product by designing and shipping APIs, GraphQL schemas, and the services behind them.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality analysts, product managers, and designers to turn sports data into customer-facing tools.
- Own backend-heavy work end to end, from data model and endpoint through production, while keeping services reliable, observable, and fast as usage grows.
- Use AI tooling as a core part of day-to-day engineering and help raise the team’s standards for AI-assisted development.
- Investigate ambiguous technical problems, evaluate implementation options, and contribute ideas through design discussions and code reviews.
Requirements
- Three or more years of engineering experience in backend-heavy or data-heavy environments.
- Experience taking features from design through production.
- Experience building software consumed by other teams or products, including APIs, service contracts, GraphQL schemas, or data pipelines.
- Experience shipping customer-facing products and balancing quality, speed, and user needs.
- Active use of AI tools in daily engineering work.
- Experience with cloud-based systems and services.
- Experience with test-driven development and CI/CD.
- Comfort working through ambiguous technical problems.
- Collaborative, team-first approach and willingness to provide quality code reviews.
- Candidates must live within commuting distance of the Chiavari office.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional experience with C#, GraphQL, Elastic, MongoDB, and AWS.
- Experience with significant data scale and complex infrastructure.
- Experience building or maintaining APIs consumed by multiple teams or external customers.
- Familiarity working with hybrid, remote, or international teams.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary range: €34,000–€57,000 EUR.
