Product Engineer
Builds end-to-end transcription capabilities for a desktop application, spanning audio capture, media pipelines, speech-to-text integrations, native operating-system audio APIs, and transcription UX. The role requires strong TypeScript, Node.js, and React skills, with experience in audio or real-time systems preferred.

Responsibilities
- Own and build transcription features end-to-end, including:
- Audio capture on macOS and Windows
- Echo cancellation
- Connections to transcription providers and models
- Local transcription models
- Diarisation and attribution
- Transcription UI/UX for the desktop app
- Logging and evaluations to measure and improve performance
- Use the product extensively to identify transcription issues and user pain points.
- Optimize the application for speed, scale, and reliability.
- Interact directly with users to understand problems and design solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and other team members to build the product.
Requirements
- Experience with audio capture and real-time media pipelines.
- Engineering experience at technology and product-driven companies.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, and React; Electron is preferred.
- Ability to work with native code and operating-system audio APIs such as CoreAudio and WASAPI when needed.
- Experience with speech-to-text models or providers.
- Interest in AI/ML; direct experience is not required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving requirements and priorities.
- Willingness to work in person from the London office five days per week most of the time.
