Technical Account Manager, Observe
This post-sales technical advisor partners with strategic enterprise customers to embed Observe into production workflows, optimize observability, and improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical owner and trusted advisor for assigned strategic accounts.
- Build familiarity with customer architectures, datasets, use cases, and operational goals.
- Partner with SRE, DevOps, and platform teams to integrate Observe into operational workflows.
- Optimize datasets, queries, dashboards, and alerts for reliability, signal quality, performance, and cost.
- Lead health checks, architecture reviews, and proactive improvement initiatives.
- Identify use cases and expansion opportunities aligned with customer outcomes.
- Coordinate technical escalations across Support, Engineering, and Product.
- Provide technical guidance during change events, scaling initiatives, and complex operational scenarios.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, observability engineering, or customer-facing technical advisory roles.
- Hands-on experience operating production observability platforms.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, or Elastic (ELK).
- Practical experience with OpenTelemetry, including logs, metrics, traces, instrumentation, collectors, and telemetry pipelines.
- Understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience improving incident response, alert quality, troubleshooting speed, telemetry governance, or cost optimization.
- Ability to lead complex technical conversations with practitioners and engineering leadership.
- Strong written communication skills for architecture summaries, optimization plans, and executive-ready updates.
- Pragmatic, consultative approach to production problem-solving.
Nice to Have
- Experience standardizing or evolving telemetry strategies with OpenTelemetry.
- Experience modernizing legacy logging or monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and Kubernetes.
- Experience influencing enterprise architecture or platform decisions.
- Exposure to PagerDuty, Opsgenie, or VictorOps.
- Experience mentoring engineers in observability practices.
Compensation
- Annual salary range: $148,000-$194,200.
