Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale capabilities for Jade, Chime’s AI-powered financial assistant.
- Develop agent architectures, prompt strategies, and orchestration patterns.
- Build evaluation frameworks, observability, and guardrail systems.
- Partner cross-functionally to solve member pain points and deliver secure, scalable solutions.
- Improve system reliability through performance tuning and architectural enhancements.
- Contribute to technical design, code reviews, and mentorship.
- Explore technical systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software development experience in production environments.
- Proficiency with AI tooling and AI-native development.
- Proficiency with Python or comparable frameworks.
- Experience with transactional databases such as Postgres and caching systems such as Redis.
- Familiarity with architectural patterns in high-scale systems.
- Strong focus on maintainable, well-tested code.
- Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to dive deeply into technical systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with agent development, fintech, or startup environments.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $164,000–$259,000.
- Eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.
- Four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office; fully remote options are also available through the company’s remote program.
