Responsibilities
- Define the vision for backend infrastructure supporting the developer platform and APIs, and guide execution against that vision.
- Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and reliable infrastructure, APIs, and services.
- Lead and contribute to system design discussions, stand-ups, and code reviews.
- Develop and own backend infrastructure best practices focused on high throughput, high reliability, and low latency.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, product managers, and designers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend software components; API platform experience is a plus.
- Ability to solve complex design, scaling, latency, and performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency production systems.
- Production experience with Java, Go, or C++.
- Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
- Self-starter attitude and ability to execute new ideas autonomously.
- Ability to balance perfection with shipping quickly.
- Curiosity about emerging technology, including crypto and AI.
