About the role

Brand Strategy

  • Own and evolve Headway's brand positioning, narrative, voice, and visual identity in partnership with the brand and creative team.
  • Ensure the brand flexes appropriately across core audiences and objectives while remaining consistently Headway.

Creative Strategy

  • Drive creative strategy for major campaigns, brand moments, and launches spanning performance marketing, brand marketing, product launches, and corporate initiatives.
  • Lead feedback sessions with creative and product teams, delivering clear, actionable direction rooted in strategy and brand best practices.
  • Get great work to the finish line.

Insights and Research

  • Partner with Customer Insights to map knowledge gaps and ground every brief in real human need.
  • Run cultural listening sessions to surface conversations (and gaps) about mental healthcare.
  • Keep a close eye on competitive positioning to ensure distinctive differentiation.

Brand Systems and Internal Stewardship

  • Build and steward brand guidelines, creative frameworks, AI agents, and scalable tools that embed brand into how work gets made across the organization.
  • Champion the brand internally: educate teams, serve as strategic advisor on naming, product UI tone, partnerships, and PR.
  • Define and measure brand health and creative effectiveness (awareness, perception, campaign performance) in partnership with Customer Insights; use data to iterate.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in brand strategy, brand management, or brand marketing with a track record of building brands that earn lasting reputation and trust.
  • Experience navigating complex, regulated industries and making bold brand work land where stakes are high.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaborator skilled at translating business challenges into brand and communications strategies.
  • Strong customer-first instincts; ability to influence without authority in ambiguous, high-stakes moments.
  • Energized by fast-moving environments; comfortable with complexity and uncertainty.
  • Force multiplier who makes everyone around them better and inspires excellent work.
