Manager I, Engineering - AI Platform - Training & Serving
Leads and grows the Training & Serving engineering team responsible for distributed foundation-model training, large-scale serving, and AI development infrastructure. The role requires hands-on backend, data engineering, and infrastructure expertise alongside team leadership and roadmap ownership.

Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the Training & Serving team, directly managing 10+ engineers.
- Define the technical roadmap in alignment with AI platform goals and the Applied AI team roadmap.
- Work with core platform teams to tailor storage, infrastructure, and data pipelines to team needs.
- Build a strong team culture aligned with engineering standards and customer focus.
- Participate in hands-on work, including code reviews, design reviews, and some coding.
- Partner with engineering, product, and science teams to coordinate stakeholders and deliver high-quality software in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Requirements
- 1+ year leading software engineering teams as a tech lead or people manager.
- Strong technical background combining backend, data engineering, and infrastructure experience.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Experience delivering high-quality software on schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.
