Responsibilities
Sourcing and Negotiation
- Lead vendor negotiations across multiple spend categories, including commercial terms, pricing, discounts, payment terms, ramps, and renewal protections.
- Run competitive sourcing events (RFI/RFP/RFQ), prepare bid comparisons, and present recommendations.
- Prepare negotiations using benchmarks, usage data, and defined walk-away positions; document outcomes and realized savings.
- Own the renewal calendar and engage stakeholders ahead of renewal dates to prevent surprise auto-renewals.
Process Ownership and Cross-Functional Execution
- Guide purchase requests through the full intake-to-pay process.
- Coordinate with Legal on contract review and redlines, Security on vendor risk and data reviews, IT on provisioning and access, and Finance on budgets, purchase orders, and accruals.
- Manage the critical path, set timeline expectations, and escalate blockers.
- Manage supplier onboarding, including documentation, tax forms, banking verification, and supplier records.
- Maintain clean, auditable records of approvals, executed agreements, and negotiation history.
Analysis and Recommendations
- Analyze purchasing and spend data to identify consolidation opportunities, duplicate or underused tools, pricing outliers, and category trends.
- Report on savings, cost avoidance, cycle time, and spend under management.
- Present findings to Procurement leadership and budget owners.
- Support annual and quarterly budget planning with category-level spend insight and renewal forecasts.
Process Improvement
- Improve the internal purchasing experience through clearer guidance, faster turnaround, reduced friction, and better self-service.
- Advise stakeholders on procurement policy, thresholds, and purchasing procedures.
Requirements
- 2+ years of sourcing, procurement, or strategic purchasing experience, including hands-on vendor negotiation.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong finance fundamentals.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong internal customer-service orientation while maintaining process and policy standards.
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working with ambiguity.
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly in an evolving function and fast-moving industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with credibility when negotiating with senior vendor counterparts.
Nice-to-Haves
- Sourcing experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
- Familiarity with P2P platforms, CLM, ERP, and spend visibility tools.
- Working knowledge of contract terms and third-party risk concepts, including DPAs, GDPR, SOC 2, security reviews, insurance requirements, and AI/data-use terms.
- Experience supporting a global, multi-entity business, including multi-currency purchasing, international suppliers, and regional tax or invoicing requirements.
