Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of engineers building real-time sensitive data detection across Datadog’s Logs, APM, and RUM telemetry pipelines.
- Partner with the Logs, APM, and RUM teams, plus Datadog’s Trust & Safety team, to align on roadmap and integration priorities.
- Shape product direction with Product, grounding decisions in customer needs and business impact.
- Contribute to design decisions and participate in the team’s on-call rotation.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers as the team grows.
- Help build a strong engineering culture within the Sensitive Data Scanner group.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping revenue-generating products, with strong product acumen and a customer-first mindset.
- Hands-on experience with Go and/or Java.
- Track record building distributed, streaming systems at scale.
- Experience managing engineers, or readiness to step into a first formal management role.
- Ability to set goals, give feedback, and help a team grow.
- Focus on customer and business outcomes.
- Comfort weighing tradeoffs between speed and correctness in a fast-moving environment.
