Business Systems Engineer, Intelligent Automation
Build and support enterprise integrations and intelligent automation for Legal and other business systems using Workato, Boomi, APIs, AI agents, and MCP servers. The role requires 6–8 years of integration experience plus expertise in APIs, scripting, secure data exchange, and Legal technology integrations.

Responsibilities
- Design and build Workato recipes and process automations across enterprise systems, including AI-powered workflows using Workato Genie and MCP servers.
- Build and support AI agents for Legal and business-process automation, including prompt design and intelligent document processing for unstructured Legal content.
- Design and manage secure REST/SOAP API endpoints and SFTP connections; build ETL and data-sync pipelines using JSON, XML, CSV, and EDI.
- Deploy and manage On-Premises Agents for secure behind-firewall connectivity.
- Maintain platform environments and security controls, including RBAC, SSO, versioning, job monitoring, and failure troubleshooting.
- Build employee-facing tools, ChatOps workflows, agent applications, and Slack integrations with human-in-the-loop steps.
- Integrate CRM, HR, Finance, LMS, Legal, Budget & Forecast, and Supply Chain applications through Boomi.
- Write and optimize SQL/PL-SQL and custom scripts; manage code with Git/GitHub; provide production support and on-call coverage.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver integrations.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of integration or automation experience with hands-on Workato and Boomi experience.
- 4–6 years building and managing APIs, including API gateways, OAuth, SAML, and JWT, plus SFTP-based file transfers.
- 2+ years supporting Legal systems integrations such as CLM, e-signature, matter management, compliance, or e-discovery.
- 1–2 years building or deploying AI agents and skills in Workato Genie, including prompt engineering and intelligent document processing.
- At least 1 year building or deploying MCP servers.
- 3–4 years of scripting in Ruby, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for custom connectors and recipe logic.
- Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and Git-based version control.
Preferred Skills
- Salesforce, SAP, Workday, or ServiceNow experience.
- CI/CD experience for Workato recipe deployment.
- Workato Automation Pro certification or equivalent.
- Legal technology knowledge, including contract data models and GDPR/SOC 2 compliance.

- Base pay range: CAD $102,000–$127,500.
