Software Engineer Intern

Responsibilities
- Write, test, and debug C++ code for the OESIS Framework under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
- Implement well-scoped features and bug fixes, including requirements clarification, implementation, and unit/functional testing.
- Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot for code generation, refactoring, test creation, and debugging; review and validate their output.
- Learn endpoint security concepts including anti-malware detection, patch and vulnerability assessment, and device compliance through project work.
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, and Product Management throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and data structures and algorithms.
- Curiosity about or prior exposure to AI coding assistants such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn a large, real-world codebase.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable asking questions in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Nice to Have
- Foundation in C++ fundamentals, including syntax, memory management, and object-oriented programming.
- Exposure to Python, Squirrel, or Lua.
- Experience with Windows, macOS, or Linux development, or familiarity with operating-system concepts such as processes, services, and permissions.
- Interest in cybersecurity, endpoint protection, or device compliance.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with LLM concepts such as prompting and tool/function calling, or interest in AI-assisted engineering.
