Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate ideas into high-quality product experiences.
- Own key components end to end, ensuring features are robust, secure, scalable, and maintainable.
- Experiment and develop creative solutions to ambiguous problems.
- Write testable, well-documented code; participate in code reviews and design critiques; and evolve engineering best practices.
- Provide technical insight and contribute to continuous team improvement.
- Build and optimize a complex, graphics-heavy interactive web application for smooth, responsive performance.
- Manage and visualize scientific and usage data to support insights, performance improvements, and AI-driven features.
- Design, build, and maintain distributed backend and frontend services for reliability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with design and product teams to deliver intuitive scientific visualization experiences.
- Build tools that support collaboration between people and AI in translating scientific data into visuals.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS.
- Experience with NodeJS and ExpressJS.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
- Experience with MongoDB or NoSQL databases.
- Ability to own features from concept through production.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- User-focused, impact-driven approach to balancing quality, speed, and business goals.
- Experience crafting web user interfaces with the web platform and UI frameworks such as React.
- AI-native mindset and familiarity with using AI tools in development workflows and product features.
Nice-to-haves
- Background in science and an analytical, data-driven approach to problem-solving.

- Experience with observability and metrics-driven design using tools such as Datadog.
