About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own and close 6–8 priority technical searches full-cycle (backend, infrastructure/SRE, data engineering), partnering directly with engineering leadership.
  • Build calibrated scorecards and live pipelines for every search.
  • Pitch Alembic credibly to senior engineers.
  • Run structured hiring loops with same-week feedback.
  • Diagnose funnels by root cause using data.
  • Push back on hiring teams with evidence-based arguments.
  • Experiment with new AI tools and methods to improve recruiting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting (software, infrastructure, or ML) at companies with a high bar.
  • Proven closer's track record: specific examples of winning candidates against stronger brands.
  • Ability to learn businesses fast and sell them fluently.
  • Consultative approach with ability to push back effectively.
  • High content-to-word ratio: plain, honest, proactive communication.
  • Urgency combined with meticulous detail.
  • Data proficiency for funnel diagnosis.
  • AI-native practice: regularly experiments with new tools.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in structured hiring (scorecards, calibrated loops).
  • Background in AI or causal AI recruiting.
  • Track record of building or improving talent processes.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $125,000 - $160,000
  • Meaningful equity in a Series B company.
